PEAK Golden Gallop Prep Session
Run with family or friends, but make this your best 3.1 miles yet! Peak Performance Running is offering a 7 weeks kid-focused training program to help them feel ready to run the full 5k on race day beginning August 5th. You will be a part of a fun and supportive kid running community training to encourage each other and run fast on race day. You can join 1 day a week or up to 4 days a week which includes 3 running days and 1 strength day! Whatever best fits your schedule! We believe consistency of at least 2 days a week is needed to build your child’s confidence and ability, but we know kids activities are busy and running is a great supplement 1 day a week if that is all that works.
Building Stronger Athletes
For many years there was a myth that strength training at a young age would stunt a young athletes growth. After 7+ years of putting young bodies in a controlled environment with a focus on progressing the basics, and encourage athletes to focus on being controlled, skilled, and deliberate in their practice we have seen great success. The weight room is a place where young runners can build more than strength, they can build confidence with every rep. Lead by Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach Katie Whidden - each session is focused on progressing the basics. We’re not focused on being flashy or hiding behind complicated words - we’re here to develop an athletes skillset so they can grow and become athletes that know how to move around a weight room with confidence.
To build stronger, more capable athletes - we have our athletes over the age of 10 in the weight room weekly on Tuesday evenings.
Juniors Fall Program 2024 (Session 1 - Golden Gallop Prep)
August 5th- September 20th, 2024
3 Days of Structured running ( 2 trail runs, 1 track workout), 1 day of strength
Practice Schedule- all practices in Golden & Lakewood area
Monday: 4:45pm trail run @ Green Mountain
Tuesday: 5:30p Strength @ Trailhead Crossfit* Only for athletes 10 years or older
Wednesday: 4:45pm track workout @ Bell
Friday: 4:45pm trail run @ South Table
Cost:
1 day a week practice-$130
2 days a week practice- $210
3 days a week practice- $299
Unlimited practice (up to 4 days)- $379
Please note that instead of paying the full balance at once payment can be broken into installment payments. This option will be provided upon checkout.
Fall Program Sessions 1 and 2 (Cross Country)
It all points to an end of September Golden Gallop 5k with opportunities to race shorter distances along the way. If your child enjoys training and running races, Session 2 focuses on a full cross country season! We participate in a number of meets across the front range in September and October to prepare for the State, Regional, and National Cross Country meets in November and Early December. Cross country is a team sport and athletes qualify to national as individuals and teams. We are always focused on participating as a team - every point counts!
