PEAK Juniors Program

The PEAK Juniors Program is focused on Elementary and Middle School athletes who are actively looking for racing opportunities and desire taking a step up in their training. Juniors have two major seasons with Cross Country in the fall culminating with Junior Olympic XC Nationals in Early December. In the spring and summer we prepare for racing track races with the season culminating with Junior Olympic Track Nationals in late June. Since 2017, the PEAK Juniors program has produced 30+ All Americans ( top 25 in the US by age group) for the Track and in Cross Country. Our coaching team is focused on creating an environment of growth and progression for athletes just entering the sport and athletes that have competed at the national level. As most athletes are developing and growing their love in practice for many sports we follow a quarterly training calendar that allows athletes to commit at a level that allows them to give themselves to all of their pursuits. As a program truly focused on young athlete development we believe that our Juniors program is an introduction to the sport of running, focused training, and building skills that will serve them as they follow their training dreams

Building Stronger Athletes

For many years there was a myth that strength training at a young age would stunt a young athletes growth. After 7+ years of putting young bodies in a controlled environment with a focus on progressing the basics, and encourage athletes to focus on being controlled, skilled, and deliberate in their practice we have seen great success. The weight room is a place where young runners can build more than strength, they can build confidence with every rep. Lead by Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach Katie Whidden - each session is focused on progressing the basics. We’re not focused on being flashy or hiding behind complicated words - we’re here to develop an athletes skillset so they can grow and become athletes that know how to move around a weight room with confidence.

To build stronger, more capable athletes - we have our Juniors athletes in the weight room weekly on Tuesday evenings.

Juniors Spring Program 2025

February 24, 2025 - May 23, 2025*
(*No practice week of March 17)

3 Days of Structured running ( 2 trail runs, 1 track workout), 1 day of strength

Practice Schedule- all practices in Golden & Lakewood area

  • Monday: 4:45pm trail run @ Green Mountain

  • Tuesday: 5:30p Strength @ Golden Sports Performance- ***

  • Wednesday: 4:45pm workout @ Tony Grampsas

  • Friday: 4:45pm trail run @ South Ridge Park

Cost: Dependent on the number of days per week. We offer between 1 to 4 days a week of practice. Please click register here below to see those options.

***Strength training included for 2,3, and 4 day package. If your athlete ONLY wants to participate in strength training please go to https://www.goldensportsperformance.com/ for options.

We are offering a 10% discount if you sign up by January 31st.

(*No practice on July 4th)

Spring 2025 Program

Training with the Juniors helps athletes stay fit, push their limits, and have fun through the energizing spring season. As the weather warms, our dedicated runners build strength and endurance, setting themselves up for success when the competition season kicks off. During the Spring Program, the Peak Juniors team participates in local 5ks, track meets, and other fitness events, making the season exciting, varied, and fast! Just like how summer training fuels cross-country success, spring training lays the foundation for a fantastic and fast track season.

This program is designed with long-term athlete development in mind, focusing on transitioning athletes from endurance and strength training to speed and power development. Whether running on the track or training in the weight room, athletes are encouraged to work on their fitness while having fun. With the crisp spring air and plenty of energy, the Peak Juniors Spring Program is all about building base fitness, improving performance, and enjoying the season together!

Please note, athletes don't need to run competitively to be part of the team. We welcome anyone who is interested in running or staying fit for other sports.

Summer 2025 Program

Join us for an exciting summer of running! Our program is designed for both beginner and competitive young athletes who have an interest in running and want to build strength, endurance, and confidence. With a focus on preparing for a strong cross-country season, athletes will develop proper running form, pacing strategies, and race-day skills in a fun and supportive environment.

In addition to cross-country training, there will be opportunities to race in outdoor track events, giving runners valuable competition experience. Whether your child is looking to improve their fitness, set new personal records, or simply enjoy running with a team, this program is the perfect way to stay active and motivated all summer long!
