Running Camp for Kids

Does your child like to run? Join us for a four day mini camp to learn about running on the track as well as cross country. We will be learning about proper dynamic warm ups, cool down stretches, how to do a start on the track for sprints, practice pacing for the longer distances on the track and in cross country, powering up hills, and cruising downhill sections along with getting to know new running friends through FUN running games.

Camp Details

2024 Dates: June 3-6th, June 17-20th & July 29th-August 1st

Time: 9:30-11:30am

Location: All practices are in the Lakewood/Golden area

Ages: 6-11 years old. Athletes do not need to have any prior experience to participate.

Cost: $150

Camp Activities

During this program we will cover the following topics:

  • Running Form

  • Running Drills: Skips, jumps, coordinated movements

  • How to Warm Up

  • Running Games

  • Team Building, Team Competitions

  • On the track days we will have time trials where athletes can test out their skills.

Running is the foundation of most sports. Learning the basics of running can help your athlete get ahead.

  • Does my athlete need to have any experience to participate? No, we welcome athletes of any ability to our team.  We love showing new athletes this great sport and fostering their love of it.

  • If my athlete loves running what options do they have to continue? Peak Performance Running provides options for athletes ages 8-18 to participate year round. We will be sharing details about opportunities to continue running with us after the program.
