Jog Your Mind - The Startline
Jog Your Mind
Welcome to a new Segment from Peak Performance Running and Coach Andrew Simmons. Jog your mind is a series for the fall 2023 season focused on providing athletes with insights, training tips, tolls to help you have your best season possible. Athletes reach out to PEAK during their high school season when they find themselves in a tough place with racing and need help creating a race plan or need someone to help them create strategies around pre-race nerves, pre-race nutrition, or talk with someone after a series of challenging races.
The goal of Jog Your Mind is simple - create a weekly video that covers topics that are relevant to athletes racing cross country. Coach Andrew will dig into race planning, managing pre-race nutrition for distance races, race day confidence, race planning, and how to level up your racing and training. Each segment will be accompanied by a YouTube and when applicable, a downloadable resource. If you choose, you will get a weekly e-mail with a link to each new post to stay updated.
Level Up Your Game
Coach Simmons brings you the same tools that have helped him create 25+ collegiate runners in the last 5 years. Coach Simmons believes that to help athletes progress to the next level they need to first develop mental tools, strategic frameworks for racing, and great habits. To truly take your training to the next level you must do more than the bare minimum at practice, and take steps towards becoming a true champion on and off the field.
Jog Your Mind is a short 10-15 segment each week that will give you something to think about, act on, or add to your box of tools. We will cover:
Racing strategy
Performance Nutrition specific to HS XC Runners
How to create a race plan
How to approach bad races
How to develop confidence in your racing
How to balance racing, school, and a social/ academic calendar
These segments are 100% free on our YouTube Channel
We look forward to being a part of your Fall 2023 Cross Country Season.
