Segment 5: This skill will change how you perform
Athletics, especially running is all about chasing small improvements, day in and day out. If you were in the shoes of your coach, you’d want the vital details of every athlete you worked with so you could understand how they felt, how their body responded, and how well they recovered from the previous day. As a coach - you would digest this information and make a decision on how to train that day -do I push them, do I rest them, do we go easy? Without this information, it’s a guessing game - an inexact science and run-on hope that what works for one person works for the whole lot.

Jog Your Mind | Segment 4: Not seeing PR's this season?
Remember that a PR is a best-ever performance, early in the season - chasing a PR vs. sharpening your racing skills is a dangerous prospect. You’re rusty and it’s been 3+ months since you’ve taken on any serious racing, points on the line, expectations, and a team atmosphere where you’re fighting for every place add in the heat, racing after school, stress from tests, homework, and keeping up with friends. These demands all come into play on race day.

Segment #3: Building Raceday Confidence
Confidence doesn't just *happen* it's a product of daily intention and practice. If you want to get better at staying engaged when the race gets tough - you have to put yourself in tough situations and hang on a few seconds longer than last time. Visualization, reviewing the course, and creating preparation habits allow you to relax and feel comfortable as you head into your race. You should strive to build a routine that gives you confidence and comfort. This will allow you to easily slip into a mindset that allows you to focus on your race plan and objectives.
This week's download has our team warm-up, objective statements, and a pre-race routine that helps our runners find their relaxation point early in the race, and their commitment point later in the race when they commit to going "all-in".
